Privacy policy
Last updated October 12, 2026
Itemlift is a Chrome extension that lets you bulk edit products and services in QuickBooks Online. This policy explains what Itemlift collects, why, and what happens to it. In short: Itemlift only uses what it needs to edit your products and services, never sells or shares it for advertising, and deletes a company's data when you disconnect it.
What Itemlift collects
When you sign in with Intuit or connect a company:
- Your Intuit account ID, name and email address, from Intuit's sign-in. Used to recognize you on other computers and to show who's signed in. Itemlift never sees your Intuit password.
- Each connected company's QuickBooks company ID and name.
- Access tokens from Intuit that let Itemlift work with that company. They're stored encrypted.
While you use Itemlift:
- Your company's products and services, income and expense accounts and categories are loaded from QuickBooks so you can pick and edit them. They pass through Itemlift's server but aren't stored there.
- A change log of each save: the item, the field, the old and new value, and the time. This powers Undo, History and the change-log export.
- Sign-in sessions for each browser you use. Stored only in scrambled (hashed) form.
- A monthly count of how many times Itemlift read data from QuickBooks, for all users together. It contains no personal data.
In your browser (stored by Chrome on your computer): your sign-in session, the loaded item list for up to 30 minutes so Itemlift doesn't reload it every time, the color you chose for each client, and your theme setting.
What Itemlift doesn't collect
- No analytics, tracking or advertising data, in the extension or on this website.
- No browsing history. Itemlift doesn't read QuickBooks pages or any other web pages.
- Nothing from QuickBooks beyond what's needed to edit products and services. Itemlift doesn't read transactions, customers, bank data or reports.
How it's used
Only to provide Itemlift's single purpose: viewing and bulk editing your products and services in QuickBooks Online, with preview, undo and a change log. Itemlift doesn't sell your data, share it with others, use it for advertising, or use it to decide anyone's creditworthiness or lending. People at Itemlift don't read your data, except with your permission (for example, to help with a support request), for security, or when the law requires it.
Itemlift's use of information received from Chrome users complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Where it's stored and who processes it
- Cloudflare runs Itemlift's server and database. Cloudflare may keep short-lived technical logs (such as errors) for a few days.
- Intuit provides the sign-in and the QuickBooks Online connection. Intuit's own privacy policy covers what Intuit does.
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Intuit access tokens are encrypted when stored.
How long it's kept, and deleting it
- Disconnecting a company (in Itemlift, or from inside QuickBooks) deletes its tokens and change history. When you disconnect in Itemlift, this happens right away; when you disconnect inside QuickBooks, it happens the next time Itemlift tries to reach the company.
- Signing out removes the session from that browser. Your companies stay connected so you can sign in again.
- Deleting your account: email support@itemlift.app from the email address on your Intuit login, and we'll delete your account and everything stored for it.
- Otherwise, the change log is kept while the company is connected so you can undo and export it.
